Isn’t this reverse racism?
No. No such thing.
Isn’t this racist?
No.
How isn’t this racist?
In short: Cracker is a word created by white people to describe people (predominantly white but there were some black whip crackers) oppressing another race (cracking a whip at slaves etc.)… it’s not racist at all. It does not oppress the white race. It was not created to oppress the white race, it has never oppressed the white race, it doesn’t have the power to oppress the white race and it does not oppress the white race on this blog. My point in this meme is to mock the “nigga” meme and those who used it- not to mock white people.
Cracker is not a racist term. Cracker is not an oppressive term. You don’t see the entire white race being oppressed and humiliated and degraded by the word or any for of the word historically or presently. This blog is probably the first time you’ve ever even seen the word used. Cracker does not carry the oppressive and significant weight of any racial slur for any person of color. It will not be compared with the n word as far as its ability to oppress because it does not compare. Cracker is not and never will be a racist term. You can leave tumblr and never see the word “cracker” used, you can exist in real life without ever feeling like a “cracker”, being degraded by the word and told you are one. You exist without seeing people who look like you called the word without any regard to your or their feelings. You exist without having the term trivialized by people who can’t be offended by it because the word itself is barely even trivial based on the lack of its use in human interchange. You can exist without this word being considered a degrading representation of your entire race derogatorily. This word does not oppress any group of people, it doesn’t oppress the white race, it is not racist. The word describes the job of the man (white or black) who whipped the crack at slaves. It is not a word ever used to oppress or degrade the white race.
What is privilege (in reference to white people)? / What is white privilege?
This is white privilege (No, I am not affiliated at all)
Isn’t this just as bad as the “nigga” pictures?
No. This is also funny while those aren’t.
Do you hate white people / are you racist against white people?
No and not possible.
What if white people reclaim the word “cracker” like some black people reclaim the n-word?
That’d be really cool and really funny. You all could finally stop stealing from other people’s culture and taking words that aren’t yours to reclaim that can’t hurt you (the n-word for example) and degrade an entire race and create your own shit for once. Please do. Please, if you’re listening to a song with the n-word in it, say “cracker” instead, that shit would be funny as fuck and it’d probably catch on. Do that, white people. Get your own shit.
This is taken from the FAQ on my page that no one is reading. Don’t embarrass yourself in the #cracker tag pretending that the word cracker is offensive. You can avoid the word at all costs, hence it not being racist. This is not a word used in the real world, this is not a word that has a history of oppressing a race. Black people can’t avoid the N word and other POC can’t avoid derogatory terms assigned to them.
No one posting whining about this meme said a thing about the “Nigga” posts until I made this blog. I’m tired of people who know that they know nothing about race, racism or race relations giving their illogical critical analysis on the subject matter.
